Finding a vape shop in Minneapolis
Minneapolis is the largest city in Minnesota and the cultural centre of the Twin Cities, with vape shops and smoke shops serving the whole metro area. This guide covers Uptown, North-east, Downtown and the University of Minnesota campus, with listings that show the hours, phone numbers and addresses we hold.
State tax and local pricing rules affect what shops charge here, so it is worth checking the listing before you travel. Where we do not hold a field, it is shown as unknown rather than assumed.
Vape laws in Minneapolis and Minnesota
Minnesota has some of the most restrictive and expensive vape rules in the Midwest. The state has the highest vape tax in the country at 95% of the wholesale price, which means typical vape products cost close to twice what they would in a lower-tax state. The tax applies to all e-cigarettes and vaping products, including e-liquids and hardware.
Vaping is covered by the Minnesota Clean Indoor Air Act, effective since August 2019, so it is banned in nearly all indoor public places and workplaces. The minimum purchase age is 21, in force since August 2020 under the state's Tobacco 21 law.
Minnesota has no statewide flavour ban, but more than 29 municipalities have local flavour restrictions. Minneapolis adds a $25 minimum price per vaping device: since July 2025 the city has required that price floor โ one of the highest in the country โ to make disposable vapes less affordable to younger buyers.
Deceptive vapour products, such as vapes disguised as school supplies or sweets, are banned, and all e-liquids must be sold in child-resistant packaging.
Vape and tobacco rules change often and can differ between a city, county and state. This summary is general information, not legal advice, and is not a verification of any shop's licence. Confirm current requirements with the relevant state or local authority, and always be ready to show government-issued photo ID proving you are of legal purchase age.
